Are you counting down the weeks, days, and hours? Now that it’s 2018, you’ll be strutting across the stage carrying your high school diploma before you know it, and then packing up for university. Sounds pretty great, right? Just don’t lift your foot off the gas yet. It’s full speed ahead for the home stretch of high school, and here are a few things to remember…

1) Eyes on the Prize

Literally! Give yourself a visual of your dream university for motivation. Pin up a poster, photo or some sort of cool swag. When you’re working tirelessly on final assignments, you can look up and remember it will all be worth it. Check out The Book Store at Western for ideas.

2) Stay Organized

You know getting high marks on your final assignments is really important (especially if you want to be admitted to university with a generous entrance scholarship!), but finishing your applications and completing supplemental forms for universities and scholarships is equally important. Instead of getting overwhelmed, become a master organizer! Get out your planner, or open your favourite calendar app, and schedule your time so you don’t miss any important deadlines. Check out these pro-tips.

3) And, have fun!

You’re only going to be a high school senior once (in most cases), so make the most of these last few months…

  • Take plenty of photos
  • Attend high school events (that you make time for in your planner)
  • Connect with a few of your teachers, they may help you out later in life

Good luck, and here is everything you need to apply to Western University!
