To prepare for further post-secondary study, the General Arts and Science - Community Studies Ontario College Certificate program helps you explore your interests, aptitudes and skills, with a focus on social sciences.
You can enter the workforce and demonstrate that you have well-developed skills and general knowledge in a variety of topics. Completion of this certificate confirms to potential employers that you have the ability to learn at a post-secondary level.
With this certificate, you may also choose to continue your education in Year II of the General Arts and Science Diploma program. After completion of Year II with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, you can apply for advanced standing at Carleton University or the University of Ottawa. |

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. Applicants with an OSSD showing senior English and/or Mathematics courses at the Basic Level, or with Workplace or Open courses, will be tested to determine their eligibility for admission; OR
Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate; OR
General Educational Development (GED) certificate; OR
Mature Student status (19 years of age or older and without a high school diploma at the start of the program). Eligibility may be determined by academic achievement testing for which a fee of $50 (subject to change) will be charged. |
