Description:

Everywhere we go the impact of civil engineering on society is all around us. There is more to Civil Engineering than meets the eye – and once you begin studying Civil Engineering in UCD you’ll soon understand that. UCD Civil Engineering graduates have found themselves involved in many aspects of developing the Earth’s resources for the benefit of mankind. You too will have a multitude of opportunities in the career paths ahead of you with projects to choose from such as: Designing bridges and building structures, Providing an environment served by safe drinking water, Designing and implementing strategies for treating wastewater and pollutants, Designing roads, railways, ports and airports, Preventing flooding by civil engineering works on either large or small scales, and Designing foundations, tunnels and dams.

The Civil Engineering honours degree programme at UCD teaches you the fundamentals of design with respect to such projects. So whether you want to work on the next Golden Gate Bridge or ensure our drinking water is safe, UCD is the place to learn how to do that.
