Description:Ryerson’s Master of Digital Media is an intensive 12-month professional program designed to equip graduates with the skills and industry experience they will need as they launch into themselves into the digital media world. Whether our students plan to develop their own startup, work in the corporate world or go on to further studies; we provide the framework for success.

The program intersects three key areas of digital media: art & design, technology, and business & entrepreneurship. Gaining perspective in each of these areas will help you tackle problems from innovative angles.

Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 93]

If you have not completed two or more years, full-time, at a Canadian university or a university at which English was the primary language of instruction, or have not completed a graduate degree at a university where English was the primary language of instruction, you will be required to provide certification of English language proficiency through one of the accepted examinations listed below. Scores are valid for two years from the test date. It is important to understand that meeting the minimum English proficiency requirements does not guarantee admission. Programs may set additional requirements to these minimum standards. For exemption from this requirement, applicants are required to provide an official statement from their institutions Registrar's office confirming the use of English as the Medium of Instruction for the duration of their study.

Applicants must have completed a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university in North America, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution outside North America. Applicants must have an overall average of 3.0/4.33 (B) or equivalent in the last two years of their undergraduate studies. Students may apply from any area of specialization, but post-secondary education in the areas of engineering, business, multimedia, science, media production, graphics, fine arts, art history or design will be particularly useful. Previous digital media, programming, and production experiences are recommended but not required.
