Course overview

Why choose Building Information Modelling Management and Integrated Digital Delivery MSc/PGDip at Middlesex?

The construction sector is a major part of the UK economy and any centrally procured project is required to comply with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its current global standards. This is the process of creating and managing construction information through a project's life cycle with higher efficiencies in workflows and processes using Technology and Integrated Digital Delivery as a catalyst.

We are one of the first institutions in the world to offer a work-based Building Information Modelling programme. This Masters degree is specifically designed to meet the current shortage of high quality graduate professionals by developing their skillsets in managing projects, global teams, and organisations in the efficient technical, operational and strategic coordination of processes, workflows, people, assets and state-of-the art technologies that BIM requires.

Our programme is awarded by the Hong Kong Institute of BIM 2024 for best performance; the programme is one of the first MSc programmes globally, structured in all its modules to perfectly align with all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our perspective of BIM Management is an overarching umbrella that includes within it design, construction, information, project, supply chain and sustainability/circularity management.

The course is for experienced professionals who manage BIM projects including architects, architectural technologists, construction and civil engineers, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services (MEP) engineers, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) engineers, technicians, contractors, subcontractors, fabricators and manufacturers, Facilities and operations managers (FM & OM) and quantity surveyors.

Students on this course are often in full-time employment and you can study around your work and home commitments. You can finish the course in 12 months with the full-time study option or over two years with the part-time distance learning.

You can study the full MSc or the PGDip where you study two modules out of three for an MSC.

Special offer 2024

Middlesex University is celebrating 10 years of leadership in running our suite of specialist MSc programmes in BIM, with more than 400 alumni from more than 30 countries, in strategic BIM positions globally.

To celebrate this, the university is offering in the upcoming academic year, an additional value: all students of this management focused programme MSc BIM Management and integrated Digital Delivery will be allowed access to all the material delivered on our hands-on MSc Building Information Modelling and Construction Technologies programme. This delivers hands-on technical, programming and technopreneurship skillsets at no additional cost, time or effort needed beyond what is required in this registered programme.

You will not be required to produce any deliverables for the other MSc programme (hence not granted its degree). However, you will have full online access to all its courses, webinars, debates, materials from more than 40 global experts, throughout the duration of your study. Since one MSc is focused on the management of projects and organisations skill sets, and the other is focused on the hands-on technical and operational skill sets on projects, you will enjoy learning both and acquiring their various skills at your convenience.
