Located at the centre of Canada's beautiful Niagara Peninsula in St. Catharines, Ont., Brock University is the only Canadian university with the distinction of being part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The Brock campus is a safe and friendly environment. The park-like setting of the University, with its wide-open spaces, offers a number of outdoor activities at any time of year. The University offers strong undergraduate, graduate and interdisciplinary degree programs that include co-op and other experiential learning opportunities to a student population of more than 17,000. Brock students can expect the close, personal attention of a dedicated faculty and the opportunity to explore their academic interests through participation in seminars and labs.

The University is expanding the number of programs offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is introducing new co-op programs across all faculties. Brock offers one of the largest selections of co-op programs in Canada. Brock's commitment to adding new and diverse learning opportunities has lead to the creation of programs such as Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Tourism and Environment, Biophysics and Interactive Arts and Science.

Brock's commitment to the student's experience has also lead to the creation of program for new first year students. SMART Start, Students Making A Realistic Transition, is Brock University's summer academic orientation program. This first official day as a Brock student will begin your transition to university life, and help you to feel at home on campus. The program is designed to ease the transition from high school to university by providing incoming Brock students and their families with an in-depth look at university life through interactions with staff, faculty, and students.

Students set to start their first year at Brock are able to attend the full-day session that will offer them a chance to register for classes, obtain their student ID cards, tour the campus, learn about various student services, interact with upper-year students and faculty members, and enjoy a meal in the DeCew Residence Dining Hall. There is also a special program for parents and guests of students. For more information please visit: http://www.brocku.ca/smartstart/.
