Nobody likes to wait and worry about a university admissions application. This is especially true for international students who have to get visas and make travel arrangements as part of their preparation for university studies in Canada.

More than 30 years ago, in the earliest days of its international student programs, Thompson Rivers University made a commitment to prompt and transparent admissions processing for international applicants. This commitment continues today with TRU’s four-person International Admissions team. The university’s International Admissions Officers exclusively process international student inquiries and applications.

This focus, and the expertise of the team in working with international students, allows TRU to process international applications with a turnaround time of only two working days. This response time is virtually unmatched among universities in Canada or the US.

The International Admissions team also works closely with students, and with academic departments within TRU, to arrange conditional admissions and evaluate transfer credits from institutions in Canada or abroad.

In addition to the team’s focus on international students, each International Admissions Officer further specializes in specific program areas at TRU as well as specific countries of origin for incoming students. This helps the team to develop additional specialized expertise in interpreting transcripts and advising students from specific countries and to develop in-depth knowledge specific program areas as well.

Most of all, the TRU team helps to ensure that all students who apply to the university get a thorough response with a personal touch. The International Admissions team is the first point of contact at TRU for prospective students and we can’t think of a better welcome.
