Keys to becoming a successful student!
Capilano University is located in North Vancouver in a beautiful park-like setting, and is easily accessible by car or bus. The North Vancouver campus is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver.
Each semester Capilano University welcomes over 600 international students to its campus. In order to become a successful student, all new international students attend International Student Orientation. Orientation is a time for new students to learn about services available on campus. There is information to help students with their studies at Capilano and life in Vancouver. Orientation is also a time to meet other new students and staff at Capilano. All students attending Orientation receive an International Student Handbook, a tour of our university, free lunch, and valuable information about being a student at Capilano University.
The International Student Centre plans activities each term so international students can enjoy themselves during their time at Capilano University. There are many activities for students’ on- and off-campus. These activities help students meet new friends, learn the language and customs of Canada, and relieve stress throughout the term of study. The International Student Centre also conducts an English conversational skills get together each week called Conversation Corner. Each session is facilitated by international student volunteers and topics are decided upon by those in attendance.
Capilano University’s International Student Centre has three International Admissions and Academic Advising Officers, an International Integration Officer, two Support Staff and two Managers all there to make sure that international students have a successful and satisfying educational experience.
