English Language Program at the University of Toronto
Moving to a new country can be a difficult and challenging time. Whether you plan on staying for the duration of your undergraduate studies or you’re just planning on visiting for the summer, it is always a big decision that requires plenty of preparation. From the moment students arrive at the English Language Program, University of Toronto, we strive to ensure their adjustment to their new environment is a smooth and comfortable one.
In the first week, ELP, UofT students attend a comprehensive orientation and campus tour where they are familiarized with all of the services, facilities and resources available to them, both at the school and on the University’s campus at large. From how to obtain their student card to accessing the University’s Housing Service, students will be well prepared for their studies and all the challenges that lay ahead. The ELP’s student services team will help students acclimate every step along the way, with information sessions and workshops on a wide variety of topics, one-on-one counseling and even a welcome party to kick off their studies.
Moving to a new country and a new school should be fun! At the ELP, UofT, students will have lots of opportunities to practice their English and discover all the riches the city has to offer. Year-round trips, events and activities are offered daily and students can have a truly enriching experience through the ELP’s Volunteer Experience Program by volunteering at a local event or for a non-profit organization. Students can also share their experiences by publishing for the school’s official magazine, the World of Words (WoW).
Canada is a very welcoming place and the University of Toronto is no exception. With its famous hospitality, storied history and natural beauty, it will quickly become your home away from home.
