Learning by doing is something that the University of Toronto Scarborough excels in. Students here don’t just learn from the classes they attend, but from the wide variety of hands-on, experience-based programs we offer. This means that our students earn more than just a degree when they graduate; it means our students will have the relevant experience and skills to ensure their success in the workforce!

Co-operative education is just one aspect of our dedication to experiential learning. Combine your academic studies with paid work terms to gain a unique combination of real-world job-experience specific to the academic program you’re studying. The U of T Co-op experience is bound to open doors both domestically and internationally with 71 options spanning the Arts, Management, and the Sciences!

Joint Programs in Journalism, New Media Studies, and Paramedicine allow our students to earn both a University of Toronto degree and a College diploma or certificate. Gain the theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills from your U of T education, while also, developing practical skills through hands-on laboratory courses, and internship opportunities.

The concept of ‘Learning by Doing’ can be found in many other instances at U of T Scarborough. From students taking a Service Learning Course to better understand our local community, to students involved with the Science Engagement Program,   to those that go abroad for an exchange opportunity.
There’s never a shortage of volunteer, mentoring, or outreach experiences to help you put the material you learned in your lectures to use in the real world.

Everyone knows you need experience to get a good job – at U of T Scarborough we’re giving out students just that!
