Enrich your Canadian High School Experience Activities for International Students

Joining clubs and sports teams is a great way to get involved in your school’s community and make new friends who share similar interests. Each of the high schools in the Greater Victoria School District offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, and international students are sure to find something that appeals to them. In addition to extracurricular school-based activities, the District’s Victoria International High School Programs (VIHSP) office is pleased to offer special events for our international students throughout the year.

Here’s a sampling of what our busy activities team has organized lately:

• Intramural soccer league: students drop in once a week for a fun game of soccer.


• Dance: we recently held our annual Fall dance featuring a music DJ and laser light show. Students were welcome to bring a friend. The evening was a great success and over 250 students attended!


• A trip to the world-famous Whistler resort: students enjoy two full days of skiing/snowboarding at the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and evenings are free to take in the vibrant Whistler Village atmosphere. This trip is super-popular with our students.
