Joining clubs and sports teams is a great way to get involved in your school’s community and make new friends who share similar interests. Each of the high schools in the Greater Victoria School District offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, and international students are sure to find something that appeals to them. Click here to see some of the activities on offer at our schools.

In addition to extracurricular school-based activities, the District’s Victoria International High School Programs (VIHSP) office is pleased to offer special events for our international students throughout the year.

Here’s a sampling of what our busy activities team has organized lately:

  • Intramural soccer league: students drop in once a week for a fun game of soccer.

  • Dance: we recently held our annual Fall dance featuring a music DJ and laser light show. Students were welcome to bring a friend. The evening was a great success and over 250 students attended!

  • A trip to the world-famous Whistler resort: students enjoy two full days of skiing/snowboarding at the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and evenings are free to take in the vibrant Whistler Village atmosphere. This trip is super-popular with our students.

More exciting activities are being planned for the new year ahead.
