International Student Services at Seneca
By: Emily Milic
College student services provide many important and beneficial resources, connections, and activities for students and many institutions, like Seneca College, have international student services. These offices have staff available to help with student visa questions, applications and renewals throughout a student’s education.
If you are interested in gaining Canadian experience and working while you are attending Seneca, staff can also help you with questions about your eligibility for work and which permits you might need. Here are some examples of permits that may be required:
Off-Campus Work Permit - Online Application
You may apply for an off-campus work permit allowing you 20 hours a week while studying and 40 hours a week during your vacation period, if you meet certain requirements and have a 2.5 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).
Co-op Work Permit - Paper Application
This permit is required for all co-op internships, externships, field placements and volunteer work.
Post-Grad/Open Work Permit - Online Application
This permit will give you from eight months, up to a three-year work permit in Canada once you graduate from your program.
