I found that choosing a university and program to study was one of the most exciting and important choices I made in my lifetime. I have no doubt that it will be a life changing decision for you too! Here at UAlberta, the international office and I have created a list of things to consider when picking your program and university, that we feel will help you make the right decision:

Community

When choosing a university, you want to make sure that there are many opportunities for you to get involved in a community that will help you grow academically and personally. At UAlberta, from the moment you step off the plane, the university makes sure that you have the opportunity to connect with a supportive community. From Transitions Orientation, an orientation program specifically for international students, to over 400 active student groups on campus, and a number of student services and resources, there are many places you can go to grow your community at UAlberta!

Location

You will want to choose a location with great work opportunities, a lively social scene, and a safe and welcoming environment. UAlberta is located in Edmonton, Alberta, an economically strong Canadian city that features a wonderful mix of nature and city life, and is known for its diverse multiculturalism and welcoming community.

Programs

Choice of programs, majors, and minors is very important when choosing a university. With over 200 undergraduate programs and 170 graduate programs there are many different kinds of programs you can choose to pursue at the University of Alberta.
