Telfer School of ManagementWhen it comes to post-secondary studies, finding a school is easy, but finding the right school is what really matters.

First, start by narrowing down your options, choosing one or two programs of interest and identifying institutions that offer these programs.Browse related websites and brochures to find out what is available in terms of scholarships, residence, internships, international exchange programs and career planning support.

For studies in business, for example, you may consider the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management.

The Telfer School has achieved the triple crown of accreditations and offers exciting opportunities for personal and professional development that enable students to make the most of their university experience.

Then, make sure that you know the program’s admission requirements and the application procedures: documents to submit, key deadlines and language requirements.

Once you have applied and are waiting patiently for a response, try to determine what is most important to you when it comes to your university experience. What do you want to achieve from an academic perspective? What can you take part in outside of the classroom? As you dig a little deeper, you will find which schools better meet your interests and expectations.

Finally, once you’ve received offers of admission, take the time to visit the universities that you are seriously considering. Go for campus tour or attend an information event where you can meet current students and staff members. This will give you a better feel for the environment to see if it is the right fit for you. After all, you are choosing your home for the next four years!
