Guide to Finding the Right School
Important Guidelines in Finding the Right School:
Start your search for the right school by matching your career goals with the opportunities available after graduating from each of your education options. Find help and guidance throughout the admissions process and find a supportive academic community on campus.
Find the Right Program for your Career Goals – Certificate? Diploma?Degree?
“As Canadians, we change careers an average of six times in our lifetimes. I think the main thing to tell people is do what you really love. In our Undergraduate Programs, in the Business and Management studies area, the first three semesters are common. We don’t expect students to know what they want to do in the undergraduate” explains Michael Vourakes, Dean, School of Business at Centennial College.
“At the Graduate Studies level, most students come to Centennial with a degree already. About 30% of students at Centennial already possess a degree. So, they know what they want to specialize in.”
“Don’t have a degree? Do you want to continue onto a Bachelor’s? You can absolutely do that, we have articulation agreements with many Universities for Bachelor’s Degree programs” explained Vourakes of the different opportunities available to International students after graduating from Centennial College.
Find Help and Guidance throughout the Admission Process
Having a designated International Admissions Assistant for your home country ensures you receive the specialized help and guidance you’ll need throughout the admissions process at Centennial College:
“My name is Svetlana and I am an Admissions Assistant for Europe, Africa and Caribbean team, so if you’re from one of those countries you will most likely communicate with me, and I will guide you through the process from submission of documents to the moment you receive your acceptance letter” Svetlana introduced via webcam at Centennial’s recent Live Video Chat for International Students.
“The service in the admissions department is how I knew I found the right school. Being from Venezuela we have special needs like applying for CADIVI from our government for tuition and living expenses in Canada. Having Minerva and Maria Rebecca to talk to me in my language and help solve my problems is how I knew I found the right school” explains Cindy Chan, International Business Management student at Centennial College.
Find Academic Support on Campus
“This is not your father or your uncle’s school. When I went to school there was no advice, no help, no free tutoring. We have that here. We have over a hundred tutors that help with problem areas like Math, Statistics and English” explains Dean Vourakes of the academic support available on campus in a Live Video Chat with International Students around the world.
