"Studying in Canada has provided me with numerous opportunities to develop my business skills and increase devotion for the marketing industry. I am from El Salvador and I study Business Marketing at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. The key to succeeding as an international student is the combination of interpersonal skills and getting good grades.

I feel proud for being chosen as the winner of the annual Kessler Memorial award in 2011 by representing the Business Marketing Program for "Leadership and Volunteerism within Fanshawe College". In winter 2012 I was chosen to go on an exchange semester to Ireland where I got to travel and learn about Global Businesses. I also love getting involved in extra-curricular activities in associations such as:

- Enactus: Entrepreneurial-Action-Us. A worldwide association that aims to improve the community standard of life and sustainability.
- Host International Program: Helping new international students adapt in Canada and make new peers.
- Rotaract: Helping the community in physical and social needs while promoting peace, leadership development and international understanding.
- Fanshawe College Exchange Club: Connecting inbound and outbound exchange students from all over the world.
Canada offers the opportunity of working while being a student. I have already accomplished work placements in the marketing field. My Co-Op working experience has given me a direction of the career path I want to pursuit and had added value to my professional background.

I have met friends from all over the world and get to know other cultures. Being in Canada has been the best decision I have taken in my life because of the broad number of opportunities within the country for personal, academicals and professional development."
