Trent UniversitySumming up student life at Trent University in just three short paragraphs is a near-impossible feat. Our extra- and co-curricular programs offer such a wide variety of clubs, groups, teams, and events that you could easily participate in a different activity every day of your studies at Trent. And if there isn’t a club to match your interests, it’s easy to start your own.

Extra-curricular life for Trent’s rowing team begins at 5am, when the morning mist is still rising off the winding Otonabee River. Dawn is the best time to catch the river in a calm moment, and there are few sights more inspiring than watching a team of rowers, eyes locked in concentrated effort, every dip of the oar moving in measured sync with their teammates. Even if you’ve never been in a rowing skull before, you can test your muscles and co-ordination in our indoor rowing tanks. Stay active by trying out for the soccer, track & field, or equestrian team, or by joining a Zumba fit class.

Your photography and writing skills can be honed at one of our school newspapers, or you can share your favourite music from home by programming a show on Trent Radio. Film festivals, an international choir, coffee houses, art shows, improv theatre, competitive dance team…the list goes on. If you’re passionate about leadership and politics, you can run for elections in our college cabinets and student union, or get involved with Model UN, Sustainable Trent, or WUSC. Our international students association encompasses regional clubs and groups, and hosts amazing events throughout the year. There is never a shortage of things to keep you busy…you just have to remember to squeeze time in for classes!
