Work, Work, Work!
Students at MacEwan University can work part-time on campus while studying. Please note that these opportunities are limited. However, Canada’s Off -Campus work program allows international students to work part-time, for up to 20 hours per week, anywhere off-campus. Sandra Murillo Paz, Mexico City, stated that “the process to attain an off campus work permit was not challenging at MacEwan University due to the helpful counselors in the Student Resource Center”.
To be eligible for an Off-Campus work permit, students must have completed the first 6 months of their University goal program, maintain a full-time student course load and satisfactory academic standing. This new federal-provincial initiative is good news for students at MacEwan University since they will now be able to earn money while getting valuable and relevant work experience.
Furthermore, MacEwan University’s Career Services provides career education and employment services to help students and graduates make a meaningful connection between their education and the world of work. These services include: Career planning and work search advising (resume review and mock interviews).
Paz, also noted that MacEwan University gives students a competitive advantage be offering a small student focused environment that allows for optimal interaction between students and instructors.
Macewan University provides students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in Alberta, Canada’s economic leader.
