Studying in Canada will be an exciting beginning to your future academic career. It is important to get settled in at your new school and start the year strong. UAlberta has many great orientation activities designed to make you feel welcome. Your journey doesn’t stop when your plane lands, it just begins!

1) First Stop: Edmonton International Airport

You may be wondering about what to do or where to go once your plane lands in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. No need to worry, we can help with your arrival! From mid-August until early September, UAlberta has a welcome booth located in the arrivals section of the Edmonton International Airport. You will find UAlberta staff at this booth from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm local time. They can help you with welcome letters, handouts, information on transportation, and some other immediate needs.

2) Second Stop : U of A+

This program for first year international undergraduate students is designed for academic success! U of A+ is an intensive two-week program that includes classes, workshops, one-on-one training and peer-led activities. Here you can learn more about study and exam preparation, academic writing and editing, time and stress management, UAlberta resources, and more. If you are planning on attending UAlberta in Fall 2014, check out the U of A+ program costs, schedule, and how to apply – the application deadline is August 8, 2014.

3) Third Stop: Transitions Orientation

Transitions Orientation is an awesome place to learn how to adjust to life in Canada, talk to academic advisors, and meet other international students during social activities! You can pre-register for Transitions for Fall 2014 now – registration is free!
