University Application 101
All you need to know about submitting an offer-worthy application (to Cardiff Met).
Here are 5 tips to help you apply to Cardiff Met. It’s free to apply so you’ve got nothing to lose!
- 1. Check the deadlines!
Every university will have different deadlines for applications. These deadlines are usually listed on their website, like our important dates section. Mark them in your calendar so you don’t miss them!
- 2. Write a checklist
Along with your application, you will need to submit supporting documents, make a checklist of everything you need to submit so you don’t miss anything. If you know you won’t have all the documents before the deadline, contact the admissions team, they will advise you on what to do.
- 3. Make your statement personal!
It’s called a personal statement for a reason – this is your opportunity to express yourself and show us your passion! Also, make it personal to the university you’re applying to - it’s nice to know you haven’t replaced the name of another university with ours. Making the effort to personalize your statement to show you’ve researched the university will go a long way.
- 4. Tick all the boxes
We have criteria when checking applications so think about what we might be looking for (skills, knowledge, compatibility etc.). We’d recommend referring back to the course description, when talking about skills you have, don’t just tell us you can do something – tell us how you can do it! Also, write about the location and facilities available – show you want to study with us.
- 5. Need Help? Ask!
We have a friendly admissions team on hand who will be more than happy to talk to you and guide you through the application process. Email, phone or even ask to Skype us – we’ll make time to talk to you.
