Transitioning from high school to college can seem scary and overwhelming. But – we promise – after the first few days the halls of Humber will start to feel like home.

One way to help make the change easier is by attending our First Six Weeks FREE series of workshops. Each one lasts 45 minutes and comes with food, prizes and the chance to meet your fellow first-year students.

We cover everything from College 101, to the supports and services available to our students on campus, to striking a healthy balance between school and life and the different ways to get involved in campus life.

If you register for our First Year Experience program, you will be paired with a mentor – an upper year student who can help you find your classes, answer any questions about campus life and tell you where to find things like a nurse, the cafeteria and the sleep lounge. (Yes, we have a sleep lounge).

Peer mentors were in your shoes once and know well the mix of excitement and nerves that comes with being a first-year student. Signing up for a mentor is absolutely free – and a great person to have on your side as you navigate college life.
