A new year gives everyone a chance to reflect on their past experiences, and look forward to new ones. Soon, you’ll be making the leap from high school to a post-secondary institution, which will no doubt be an exciting transition.

In the meantime, it’s important for you to focus on the remainder of your school year, and make an effort to keep your grades up and get into the school and program of your dreams. This can be stressful, but it’s important to remain focused and begin thinking about how you can improve yourself as a student in the coming years.

Making changes to your study habits and routines is one way to ensure that you’re successful as a student entering university. Creating (and maintaining) a schedule for assignments and projects is a great way to stay organized and plan in advance of deadlines. While many of your study habits are transferrable to university, it may take you a while to adjust to a new setting and schedule. Fortunately, Brock offers excellent academic support to all students, from workshops to drop-in centres, to tutoring and online services.

Admission to certain programs may be more competitive than others, but putting in the extra effort to achieve the required admission average is well worth it. You may also be rewarded for your hard work with additional funding via our Brock Scholars Awards program.

In the event that you’re unable to meet the admission requirements for your program of choice, we will automatically provide you with an alternate offer of admission to a similar program of study. Your grades and other requirements will automatically be reassessed throughout your final semester of high school, so all you need to do is continue to study and work diligently.

Exciting times are ahead for you – stay focused and enjoy the experience.
