We know, saying goodbye to summer and hello to a new fall semester can be tough. But September is a great time to be on campus! With lots of fun events and activities, helpful resources, and seemingly endless opportunities, you won’t have time for the back to school blues.

If you haven’t already signed up for new student orientation, now’s the time! During your orientation, you’ll be able to explore the campus and discover where important resources are like the library and bookstore. Plus, you’ll be able to meet other students, ask questions, and make friends. Not a new student? Share your experiences and get involved with orientation as a volunteer!

A new semester means a new start— start organized and stay organized. Find a system that works for you and use it. Whether you’re taking notes on a laptop, a fresh new agenda, or a savvy smartphone app, be sure to set important reminders for yourself and write down dates and deadlines for your courses.

Feeling overwhelmed? Not sure how to begin your first university paper? Want to talk to someone about your career goals? We’re here to help. KPU proudly offers free counselling services and support to all students on a range of topics. Or visit one of the university’s learning centres for tutoring support, peer support, and workshops designed to help you develop strong study skills and boost your grades.

Don’t forget about yourself! With so much excitement in the air and the buzz of a new semester, it’s more important than ever to make sure you make time for yourself. Find a quiet spot on campus to enjoy a coffee before class, or drop in for a fitness class as a great way to stay in shape and de-stress.
