University of Waterloo and Conestoga College Donate Supplies to Help Fight COVID-19 in Canada

Schools across Ontario are banding together to support healthcare workers.

University of Waterloo and Conestoga College donate equipment

Both the University of Waterloo and Conestoga College, schools based in southern Ontario, have collected equipment from their science labs to help support healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their science faculty gathered personal protective equipment (PPE) from classrooms and labs. This includes critical items like masks and gloves — stuff that has been in short supply since the coronavirus began dominating headlines. Conestoga is offering gear including N95 masks, and even ventilators normally used to train students.

Working together

Other schools in the region are also donating necessary medical supplies. The University of Guelph has delivered 10,000 N95 masks to a local public health agency, and the Ontario Veterinary College is gathering ventilator equipment to be used against the pandemic.
