New School Year 101: What to Expect This Fall
Starting college or university can be intimidating. Here's a quick preview of what you're in for.
The start of the new fall semester is almost here!
This time of year always brings a lot of different emotions for students. You're getting ready to start new classes, see friends you haven't seen all summer, and join on-campus clubs and sports teams.
With all the new and exciting events happening in the school year, staying informed on what to expect this coming fall will help keep you organized and ready for success. Here are some new things you can look forward to:
Course delivery: in-person is back
Students can look forward to having more in-person courses throughout the fall semester. Fall 2022 promises to be a full and exciting one at Humber, welcoming both new and returning students on campus. Please see Humber's Fall Orientation webpage for more information on different events happening around Humber College.
Virtual and in-person student services
Accessing student services as a Humber student has never been easier. To suit your preferred method of delivery, campus and student services and activities will be provided both in-person and virtually.
For a complete list, including housing, academic and financial help, student life, health and well-being services, and much more, visit our page on student services and supports.
No matter what school you attend, you're sure to receive valuable academic and social supports from student services. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
Activities on and around campus
Whether you're interested in joining a sports team, a student club, or attending orientation events, Humber has something for everyone to enjoy this semester. Humber aims make your student life experience on campus an enjoyable one.
Humber's student union, IGNITE, and the First Year Experience site are your main sources for information on new and exciting social events for the fall. Have your calendars ready to mark down all the upcoming events and activities you can be a part of for the new school year.
Student mentorship
As a new student, you may want a helping hand: someone who's been through the ringer before and knows what to expect. Humber's First Year Experience office can pair you with a peer mentor to help you navigate your first year with ease.
If you'll be a Humber student come fall, fill out this form to get matched with a mentor in September.
Getting involved helps you connect with your classmates and build friendships that can last a lifetime, so be sure to take advantage while you can!
