Exciting student life in Canada's biggest city
York's main Keele campus is located just a subway ride away from downtown Toronto, as well as uptown's Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. With two subway stations on campus, as well as a network of buses, GO transit, and light rail transit, you can easily explore the Greater Toronto Area's diverse neighbourhoods, parks, sporting events, and concerts. You can attend your morning lectures, hop onto the subway, hang out in downtown Toronto, and be back on campus for an afternoon tutorial!
Thanks to free shuttle services between our Glendon and Keele campuses, it is easy to travel between both locations. Keele Campus offers a thriving community hub that is home to athletic facilities, studios, labs, residences, green spaces and a mall with a wide range of dining and shopping options.
The Glendon Campus, located in the heart of Toronto, is a unique blend of modern and historic architecture. Our bilingual campus is the Centre of Excellence for French-language and bilingual postsecondary education in southern Ontario, where globally engaged programs and hands-on learning opportunities develop the changemakers of tomorrow.
The new Markham campus, opening in 2024, will be home to academic programs and research revolving around innovation in technology and entrepreneurship. It will be a unique meeting place for students to interact directly with employers, start-up companies, and community partners from across the region.
Even with York University's multiple campuses, our students benefit from a tight knit community through York's college system! As one of the few universities in Canada with this system, all undergraduate students are assigned to a college as their "home base" to study, hang out and create their own York community.
York's 350+ student clubs provide new students with the perfect chance to connect with others with similar interests and meet new friends. Track your campus involvement on your York Co-Curricular Record, which is a great addition to your resumé!
