Scholarships and bursaries
Glendon is Toronto’s only bilingual university campus, and it provides an intimate and supportive campus. Because of our unique campus, we’ve got scholarships and bursaries that are catered to your education.
Check out this new bursary available at Glendon that was established by the Government of Canada:
ACUFC Bursaries for FSL Learning
Value: $3,000
Are you interested in expanding your repertoire of languages? English-speaking Canadians enrolled in their first year of studies at Glendon have an opportunity to receive a $3,000 bursary to perfect their bilingualism while studying in their field of interest! To be eligible for this bursary, you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
- Have English as your first official language spoken
- Have completed and graduated from your secondary school studies in an English-language institution
- Study full-time in a Canadian institution during the current year
- Be enrolled in your first year of a post-secondary program in French
- Be at least 17 years old on the first day of class
And, if you’re facing financial challenges or come from an under-represented group, then you’ll receive special consideration for this bursary!
Glendon Entrance Scholarships and Awards
As a student entering your first year of your undergraduate studies at Glendon, you’ll have access to scholarships and awards for York University, as well as scholarships and awards specifically for Glendon campus students. Some of these awards may require an application, so make sure you read the award information carefully.
Check out some of the entrance awards you could receive:
LLIR 40th Anniversary Scholarship
Value: $1,250
The LLIR 40th Anniversary Scholarship is awarded to the top incoming Glendon student who graduated from an immersion or extended French program in Ontario. To be eligible, you must demonstrate financial need.
Pearson Alumni Entrance Scholarship
Value: $1,000
The Pearson Alumni Entrance Scholarship is awarded to a Canadian high school student entering their first year at Glendon with high academic standing.
Ethel Harris Entrance Scholarship
Value: $10,000
The Ethel Harris Entrance Scholarships at Glendon will be granted to entering undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and are applying to Glendon from outside of Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate financial need and who are residents of another Canadian province or territory.
Bourse d’entrée pour les finissants des écoles de langue française de l’Ontario
Value: $3,000
This scholarship is meant for students who are entering directly from an Ontario French-language high school who demonstrate financial need. If this sounds like you, then you may be eligible for the Bourse d’entrée pour les finissants des écoles de langue française de l’Ontario.
Roseann Runte Scholarship
Value: $1,000
The Roseann Runte Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate high academic achievement and leadership and are entering their first year of studies. This scholarship was established in recognition of the special role of bilingualism in laying the foundation for communication on the national and international level.
Elizabeth J., a Glendon student, received this award when entering her degree, and she says, “This funding allowed me to focus all my energy on my studies and take away much of the stress that comes with finding ways to fund myself in university. I was able to participate in many extra-curricular activities related to my degree that will further prepare me for my future career.”
