One of the signs an interview went well is that it ran longer than scheduled. These interviews show that they are interested in getting to know you and what you can offer. Most companies that aren’t genuinely interested in hiring a candidate won’t invest their precious time in getting to know you.

2. It was conversational

A conversational interview is one of the positive interview signs, as dialogue that flows well demonstrates that they feel a connection with you. Interviewers are also more likely to hire candidates they bond well with and think would be a good fit for the team.

3. They were impressed by your resumé

While your resumé isn’t the only component deciding your fate at the company, having an impressive resumé is one way to stand out. Employers want qualified candidates, so having the background, skills, and experience they’re looking for is a plus.

4. Your questions were answered in full

The end of an interview is a chance for you to ask them common interview questions and get to know the company, company culture, what to expect in the role, and more.

While they don’t need to be over-the-top engaged, be weary of an interviewer who frequently checks their phone or seems distracted as this is a red flag.

Take notice of any details the interviewer shares with you, including what a day in a life could look like, your potential responsibilities, and even the company structure.

7. You get introduced to potential colleagues

Getting to meet potential colleagues and even seeing a tour of the office is another one of the signs the interview went well. They most likely can’t be doing tours and meet-and-greets for every candidate since it’s time intensive, so this could mean you are one of their top contenders.

8. They provided a timeline of the next steps

Most times, uninterested employers will provide a vague answer about when you can expect to hear back. Interested companies, however, will provide concrete dates and timelines of when you can expect to hear back, and may even contact you before that deadline.

9. They asked when you are available to start

If the company is truly interested in you, they will want you to start as soon as possible. So, they will probably ask when you are available to start in hopes that you can start in two weeks or less.

While all these are potential signs you will get the job after the interview, remember that no job is secure until you receive an offer and sign your contract.
