Cambrian College Introduces New Two-year Animation Program

For people looking to pursue a career in animated film, television, or gaming, Cambrian College has a new option to consider.

Starting this September, Cambrian is offering a new two-year Animation diploma program to complement its advanced diploma program.

Gain in-demand skills needed for the animation industry

“Animation is a growing sector and this new program will help meet the need for skilled talent in this field,” says Janice Clarke, Cambrian’s vice-president, academic. “So many different aspects of design and animation are in demand, through films, television, and gaming. This new program gives people the skills they need to launch their careers in all industries that require animators.”

Students enrolled in the new program will develop their storytelling, drawing, design, and animation skills to work as generalists in the animation industry. They will also graduate with a production-ready portfolio and have the opportunity to showcase their work to industry representatives during a field trip to Toronto.

Graduates of Cambrian’s new two-year Animation program can also enter directly into the third year of Cambrian’s existing Animation advanced diploma program to acquire additional skills and to specialize in 2D or 3D animation.

Both of Cambrian’s Animation programs are recognized as a Toon Boom Centre of Excellence for meeting a high standard of depth, breadth, and quality, with a deep knowledge of Toon Boom 2D software.
