Hands-on practicums prepare you for success
A key feature of this program is its work-integrated learning opportunities, where you can put what you learn in the classroom into practice. Starting in your first year, you'll complete practicums working with children, youth, and families in the community. This hands-on approach means you're not just learning about child development, mental health and advocacy — you're building experience with the populations you'll serve after graduation.
Capstone: Bringing it all together
In your final year, the capstone project ties together everything you've learned. You'll collaborate with organizations to tackle real challenges, gaining valuable skills and insights that set you apart in the workforce or prepare you for graduate studies. Employers value this practical experience because it shows you've already worked in the field, making you job-ready from day one.
