The Sprott MBA Financial Management concentration provides the necessary tools and concepts for those who want to excel in corporate financial management. The success of an enterprise depends on the effective management of capital invested by shareholders and a proper corporate governance framework. Recent events in capital and stock markets have reinforced the importance of prudent financial and investment management for financial professionals. The financial management function cuts across strategic, tactical and operational decisions, as well as functional areas that include accounting, operations, marketing and logistics. Financial managers require an appreciation for managing the day-to-day operations of the firm (working capital), in addition to knowledge of the implications of long-term financing and investment decisions, as well as a clear understanding of the risk and return trade-offs faced by capital providers. |
