The Construction Operations and Supervision Diploma program provides students with the knowledge and skills to work in the construction industry and advance their careers as site coordinators, supervisors, and superintendents. Students will learn construction theories, practical construction knowledge and computer application techniques. Major topics include the design concepts of buildings, building code and standards, construction drawing methods, basic project management skills, surveying, scheduling techniques, health and safety regulations, and construction estimating.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are primarily suitable for employment in local construction firms, engineering firms, consultant and governmental agencies, and with contractors or subcontractors. Employment opportunities and further studies may be pursued in the fields of engineering, building science, architecture, and computer-aided design. |
