Health Studies (Health Policy) students examine the character and consequences of different health care systems, public health policies, and governmental and civil society responses to ongoing societal issues related to health. Health Studies assesses how individual behavior affects individual health, examines how health systems and public policy works to promote population health, focuses on the identification of health patterns using large-scale survey data, and applications of this data for innovative health promoting strategies.
UTSC continues to foster close relationships with the health sector in Toronto (both inside and outside of the university) in order to provide enhanced experiential opportunities for students. Among these opportunities, Co-op placements and research projects will be especially important. A Major in Health Policy will lead to the BA degree. |
