Practical Nursing is a diploma program. It provides knowledge and skill development in providing professional nursing care independently or as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team. You will learn how to provide professional nursing care to individuals within the context of families and communities, apply the knowledge you derive from the nursing arts and the physiological, psychological, sociological, and cultural sciences which are common to all nurses, and practice in accordance with the standards of practice and guidelines established by the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN).
Graduates are eligible to write the national licensure examination for registration as Licensed Practical Nurses in Saskatchewan. |

- Foundations for College Mathematics (MAP4C) or Precalculus
- 2 of English
- 2 of Biology or Chemistry
Requirements include Grade 12 with a minimum overall average of 70% in the following five subjects: English Language Arts A30, English Language Arts B30, Foundations of Mathematics or Pre-calculus (Previous Sask math also accepted: Math A30, Math B30, Math C30, Calculus 30 or General Math 30), Biology 30 and Chemistry 30. As part of the registration process, a criminal records check is required upon admission into the program. |
