Thanatology is the study of grief, bereavement, death and dying. Thanatologists explore the grieving process, cultural, gender and social attitudes towards death, the place of ritual and memorialization, ethical issues surrounding death and the biblical and spiritual resources available as we face death and grieve our losses.
