Additional Admission Requirements: | - Statement of Research Interests
Applicants are required to: have earned bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (e.g., SACSCOC, TRACS, ABHE, etc.); submit a 300- to 500-word statement as to why they want to pursue an M.A. in Composition at Liberty University; and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 for undergraduate study. Applicants who hold a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 to 2.99 on a 4.0 scale may, at the discretion of the Program Director, be eligible for admission on Academic Caution. These students are required to take and pass GRST 500 - Introduction to Graduate Writing in their first semester. Students who are in good academic standing in an existing master’s or doctoral program at Liberty University will meet all requirements to enter into this program. Students not yet accepted into a graduate degree may apply through the university’s Graduate School application process. All applicants must submit the following: admission application, application fee*, statement of purpose, official college transcripts, unofficial college transcripts may be accepted with a completed official transcript request form**, and proof of English proficiency.
