Description:

Applied physics uses methods and principles of physics to help people solve technological problems, usually in an industrial context. Compared to theoretical physics, applied physics is a more hands-on course, bridging the gap between physics and mechanical engineering. Applied physicists use physics, or conduct physics research, to develop new technologies to solve engineering problems. This often requires thinking 'outside the box', using your skills in physics to understand the problem at hand.

We'll teach you fundamental skills including quantum mechanics, relativity, nuclear and particle physics, and electrodynamics. You will consolidate the taught elements with laboratory-based practical classes. You will develop transferable skills and leadership potential. You'll gain confidence to think on your feet by working independently but also effectively as part of a team.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

We accept high school leaving qualifications from every province and territory. Typically the minimum requirement is 5 or 6 subjects from grade 12 or CEGEP at B or better, or 80% average (dependent on grading system), including pre-requisite subjects in some instances. Certain courses require a higher standard, for example the 3 year Law LLB requires an average of 85%.

    * We make every attempt to provide accurate information on prerequisites, programs, and tuition. However, this information is subject to change without notice and we highly recommend that you contact the school to confirm important information before applying.
