Description:

The undergraduate Strength & Conditioning major at Ohio Northern University is one of only two majors in the Midwest region recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and also as an Education Recognition Program within the 8 state region. The ERP recognizes and distinguishes schools that prepare students for NSCA certification exams. Our program combines practical, real world instruction with a challenging academic curriculum. With a foundation in the basic sciences, you’ll learn about physiology, anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics and nutrition and how each contributes to improving human performance.

At ONU, you'll receive in-depth training using the latest technology and machines in our state-of-the-art Strength and Conditioning lab in the King Horn Sports Center and Dial Roberson Stadium. Under the guidance of your professors, you'll develop performance strategies and programs for Northern’s top notch NCAA Division III athletes, working with the athletes one-on-one. Additionally, you’ll complete and internship that is required of all Strength & Conditioning students. ONU Strength & Conditioning students have completed internships at the Cleveland Clinic, The Ohio State University, The University of Oregon and with the Cincinnati Bengals.
