This practical, short course will help you on your way to becoming a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). You will engage in place shaping, economic development, public service delivery and the governance of urban areas.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in the cognate subject of Housing, Health, Geography, Planning, Social Sciences or a professionally orientated subject of Teaching, Environmental Health or Community Work or similarly related subject; or at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject with knowledge of housing, or significant practical work experience of housing, planning, and community development, or professional practice relating to the built environment and neighbourhood well-being. Non-standard entry may require intervention by the Course Team; an interview or to write an essay. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional; you can download our reference template for completion. All applicants should satisfy our University English language requirements.
