The MA Education, Ethics and Leadership is part of a suite of 3 routes for those with a continuing interest in developing their theory and practice in the field of educational leadership. Through this MA you will share sessions with those on the MA Education and MA Inclusive Education. This will support you to develop your understanding of different perspectives, developing your practice and critical thinking as you explore a range of key areas related to an ethical approach to leadership in education. The range of modules which form this MA Education, Ethics and Leadership route will enable you to focus and specialise, with choices built into the assessment requirements. The curriculum reflects the latest developments in education and is delivered by a team of dedicated and experienced teaching staff with specialist areas of expertise, who are all also involved in researching and publishing within the area.
You’ll develop a deep critical understanding of how leadership and its intersection with ethics, is applied to educational settings. The course is designed to explore how we lead people and organisations from multiple perspectives – such as psychology, sociology, management and organisational theory. You will explore this through a range of modules which focus on topics such as approaches to leadership, pedagogy, ethics in education, sustainability, as well as approaches to educational research. In the final stage of the Master’s you’ll complete a dissertation focusing on your choice of research topic within the field of ethics and educational leadership.
