The department is actively involved in research relating to educational leadership, rural education, and school effectiveness. Master's degrees may be obtained by the completion of an acceptable thesis or by the substitution of prescribed courses for the thesis. The course-based M.Ed. is intended to be a terminal degree and may not prepare students for further studies in this area.
