Veterinary technicians play an essential role in the care of animals by working alongside veterinarians to help provide medical services that will promote health and wellness. They may provide both emergency and routine care for many types of animals. This care may include radiography (taking x-rays), nursing care, dentistry, nutritional support, and laboratory procedures.
