This Master of Science in mathematics program offers students with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field an opportunity to broaden their knowledge in the several fields of mathematics and its applications. The program is designed to prepare graduates for careers in business, industry, or government. Graduate students work with internationally recognized faculty in a range of research programs in both pure and applied mathematics. In addition, numerous seminars and colloquia at Northeastern and in the Boston area give students ample opportunity to learn about important recent advances in mathematics. |

An undergraduate degree in engineering is preferred. Mathematics or physics majors with linear algebra and multivariable calculus, or students of any major with the equivalent background in mathematics as an engineering major are acceptable.
