Description:

If you have a passion for language and communication then our BA (Hons) English and a Modern Language is ideal for you. Combine your love of languages with English Language or Literature and open doors to some fantastic careers. In choosing to study a Modern Language alongside English Language and Linguistics or English Literature you will greatly enhance your communication skills and gain the experience needed for a successful career in a wide range of exciting professions. If you’re fascinated by the structure and usage of the English language, then our English Language and Linguistics pathway is for you. If you love exploring and analysing literary texts and their relationship to society and culture, you can opt for our English Literature route. The Modern Language aspect will focus on developing excellent verbal and written communication skills in a language of your choice. You’ll have the opportunity to spend time overseas and immerse yourself in the society and culture of a country where your chosen language is spoken.

    High School Diploma/Graduation Certificate with 70% average across 6 grade 12 subjects at least four of which should be University Preparation Courses (denoted by 4U) (or AP/IB class), the other two courses could be University/College Preparation Courses (denoted by 4U/4M/4C) (or AP/IB class).
