Build highly developed writing, research, analytical and oral presentation skills through courses taught by our award-winning and internationally recognized professors. You’ll study moral, social and political philosophy; philosophy of mind, cognitive science, language and knowledge; and the history of philosophy. You can choose a concentration in Philosophy, Ethics and Public Affairs or take fourth-year seminars in our faculty members’ current areas of research. The student-led Carleton University Philosophy Society organizes regular discussion groups, tutoring and celebrations. Several notable public figures have also studied Philosophy at Carleton.
