Healthcare Office Assistants are employed in pharmacies, hospitals, dental and medical offices, and physiotherapy, chiropractic, optometrist, and naturopathic clinics. BC Work Futures classifies Health Care Office Assistants in the Clerical Occupational Group. They are predicting approximately 8,800 openings within this occupational group by 2008, mostly due to retirements.
During this program, learners will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a health care office environment. With the help of our knowledgeable, friendly instructors, students will progress through modules covering everything from the Psychology of Patient Needs to Transcription to Powerpractice Dental Software. Near the end of the program, students will gain valuable job search skills and complete a practicum, further enhancing their employability.
