By improving their English language skills, this ESL program prepares learners for post-secondary education. This program is aimed at new Canadians, immigrants, and international students planning to attend post-secondary programs at St. Clair College or for students planning to directly enter the workforce. Comprehensive language training is offered for all levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced.
This program runs for 12 weeks with four intakes offered per year. It has a very good student to teacher ratio and places emphasis is on written and verbal language skills. Specialized advanced classes include preparation for iBT TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Students may have the opportunity to enrol in courses in their professional area of study while taking the ESL courses. Advanced level students may take the in house TOEFL testing, which permits a smooth transition into one of St. Clair College’s post-secondary programs. |
