Working alongside the pharmacist, technicians consult with clients, fill prescriptions, compound medications and maintain client records. All predictions indicate that pharmacy technicians will continue to be in high demand for the foreseeable future due to the following factors: continued aging of the global population; increases in the number of pharmacies in the marketplace; and the continuous expansion of product lines by pharmaceutical manufacturers. Graduates are eligible to write the certification exam and can work in hospital pharmacies in addition to retail pharmacies. |
