Pursue a Master of Arts in Theology at Huron, a two-year interdisciplinary research degree offered by Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. Our program allows you to define your own research areas and critical perspectives, while working closely with professors who will help develop your core knowledge and skills in the theological disciplines.
Our research-intensive graduate program prepares students for doctoral work in related areas or advanced competence in theological study or ministry, while also strongly emphasizing the moral and ethical components of Huron’s vision. At Huron, you’ll be connected to a vibrant community of students and scholars from both religious and non-religious backgrounds who are interested in exploring questions of faith and intellect.
This program takes two years full-time or up to four years part-time equivalent.

Degree Requirements
- 5 half-courses chosen from Group A (breadth requirement) and Group B (focus requirement) with at least two chosen from each group.
- Theology 9513: Research Methods
- 25,000-word (100 pages) thesis.
- At least one half-course in a relevant research language.
Combined MA/MTS & MA/MDiv
- Complete two programs in an accelerated period of three or four years of full-time study or part-time equivalent.
- Students admitted to the joint degree program are given a credit of three courses in the MTS or MDiv program.
- A minimum of 12 courses must be completed in the MTS or MDiv program prior to admission.

- A four-year degree in a field in the Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognized university with a minimum B+ (78%) average.
- A Statement of Academic Intent.
- Coursework in Religious Studies and/or Theology is recommended. Admission may be conditional on the completion of introductory courses in Theology. Equivalent qualifications may be considered based on the standards of the discipline or profession.
