Description:

The Mechanical Systems option concentrates on providing comprehensive engineering skills that can be applied in: heating and cooling diagram, energy conversion, heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), building environmental controls and energy management, and plumbing and fire protection systems. These systems provide comfortable, healthy, safe environments for buildings that are energy-efficient and cost-effective.

The Mechanical Systems option prepares you for the jobs of the future by teaching you about designing and installing environmental systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Graduates will be equipped with skills to work in the rapidly evolving green economy.

Prerequisites:

  •  Grade12 Principles of Mathematics  or  Grade12 Precalculus 
  •  Grade11 Physics 
  •  Grade11 Chemistry 
English: two years of education in English in an English-speaking country with one of the following: English Studies 12 (67%) or English First Peoples 12 (67%) or Other acceptable BC and Yukon courses or 3.0 credits of post-secondary English, humanities or social sciences (67%) from a recognized institution
